Latest updates for Regulation of Veterinary Medicine conference

With just over ten weeks to go until CIR takes place in Barcelona, we are making the finishing touches to our programme for Regulation of Veterinary Medicine. We are really looking forward to all of the presentations at this year’s event; we are particularly excited to have 10 European Regulators speaking at the event.

Recently confirmed as a speaker at the event is Valérie Van Merris. Valérie is the perfect speaker for our ‘Exploring Regulatory Requirements for Borderline Products’ session as she has been Chair of the CMDv borderline working group since April 2011 – so don’t miss her presentation which will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 5 September at the Fira Palace Hotel, Barcelona.

The review of the directive is something playing on everyone’s mind at the moment so make sure you get to the conference on time to hear from Gavin Hall who will be presenting views from the Veterinary Medicines Directorate on the review in our opening session.

And lastly for this post – there have been many new developments in strategies for combatting antimicrobial resistance in the EU over the last few months. For example – http://www.europolitics.info/social/ministers-tackle-antimicrobial-resistance-art337987-26.html

we are keeping on top of these developments to ensure they are addressed at our symposium, ‘Evaluating European Regulatory Requirements for Antimicrobial Resistance’ which will take place on 4 September.
